About Montessori School at Ken Caryl

Our Mission

To provide a safe and positive environment where children learn to work together in an atmosphere of respect, cooperating and sharing while building a strong academic foundation. The school will strive to create a community that allows children, parents and staff to develop strong partnerships in education that “follow the child” and respect the commitment to “Educate the Human Potential.”

Montessori School at Ken Caryl (MSKC) is a non-profit organization founded in 1999 by a group of committed and dedicated parents and teachers. The Advisory Board of Trustees is comprised of parent volunteers and community members. MSKC is loyal to the Montessori Method and is first and foremost a school community; however we also offer full day extended care to enrolled students. A trained teacher is available throughout the day to assist children; the Montessori classroom materials are never unavailable.

MSKC is a small community of four classrooms and a dozen staff members, including eight Montessori-trained teachers. Our parents support the school through volunteer hours assisting in the classroom, as a member of the board of directors or a working committee, making classroom materials, and supporting events.

Classroom observations are recommended before enrolling, especially if you are new to Montessori. Office hours are Monday – Friday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm. Tours are available Tuesday through Friday at 9:30. Please call ahead to schedule your tour.

Montessori School at Ken Caryl believes in honoring the dignity of all human beings. In keeping with that belief, we do not discriminate in hiring, enrollment practices, educational programs, scholarships, or any other educational or administrative practices based on race, color, gender, religion, ethnic or national origin, political affiliation, socio-economic status, or disability.
