The toddler classroom offers very young children a unique experience of self development in a nurturing environment of understanding, respect, and support. The Montessori toddler classroom is unique in that it provides a very specific structure which fulfills the needs of each child.
Toddlers are given the opportunities to work in the development of language skills, art, music, and sensorial and practical life. These activities give children the chance to develop skills to care for themselves and their environment in the following ways: control of movement, coordination, independence, grace, and courtesy. Repetitive cycle is offered, which assists the child in establishing patterns of order and sequencing. Each child becomes grounded in reality, building the child’s self-esteem which is the ultimate goal.
Through song and dance, and freedom of choice, the toddlers have access to a variety of large muscle activities that offer them many opportunities of movement. This freedom in a safe space is crucial to the toddler program; however, it is always tempered by three important limits that will be beneficial for a lifetime: respect for self, respect for others, and respect for the environment.
Toddler Program Hours include three options:
8:15 am – 12:15 pm
8:15 am – 3:00 am
